BMW wird im Jahr 2008 ein sportliches AllradcoupĂŠ auf den Markt bringen. Das neue Crossover-Modell, das erstmals Eigenschaften eines Geländekombis und eines CoupĂŠs kombiniert, soll nach Angaben eines BMW-Sprechers in MĂźnchen ein "neues FahrgefĂźhl" ermĂśglichen. MaĂgeblich dafĂźr soll unter anderem eine erhĂśhte Sitzposition sein. Die Zeitschrift "auto motor und sport" hatte am Mittwoch berichtet, dass das auffällige Nischenmodell den Namen "X Sport" tragen wird.

Dem Magazinbericht zufolge erscheint der rund 4,80 Meter lange Viertßrer wie eine Kreuzung zwischen 3er-CoupÊ und X5-Geländewagen. Angetrieben werde das Crossover-Fahrzeug von einem 195 kW/265 PS starken Reihensechszylinder mit 3,0 Litern Hubraum. Alternativ stehe zur Markteinfßhrung im Frßhjahr 2008 ein 3,0-Liter-Turbodiesel mit Registeraufladung und 210 kW/286 PS zur Wahl. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt sollen ein 4,4-Liter-V8 mit rund 294 kW/400 PS sowie einen Basis-Diesel mit 170 kW/231 PS folgen. Diese Informationen wollte der BMW-Sprecher nicht kommentieren.
