ALPINA engineers have taken BMW’s state-of-the-art twin turbo diesel engine from the 123d and increased power to 214hp; producing more horsepower per litre than any other engine in a current BMW or BMW ALPINA road car.The extra power, lightness of the engine, plus additional weight saving technology means an overall power-to-weight ratio of 146hp per tonne – virtually matching BMW’s own 330d Coupe. The ALPINA D3 will only be sold overseas with a base price starting at £32,950 (about $64,500). * 2.0 litre four-cylinder with two turbo-chargers * Horsepower: 214HP(211bhp, 157 kW) * Peak Torque: 450 Nm(332lbs-ft) @ 2,000-2,500rpm * Acceleration: 0-100km/h in 6.9 (6.9)* seconds * Top Speed: 244(242)km/h (152mph) * EU-consumption, Combined 5.4 (5.6) l/100 km [52.3 (50.4) mpg], Extra-urban 4.6 (4.5)ltr [61.4 (62.7) mpg], Urban 6.7 (7.5)ltr [42.2 (37.7) mpg] * CO2 Value, Combined: 143 (148) g/km
