  1. Cu toate astea ce.....? si eu am zis ca 535 bate 420CDI ....tu ai ce ai cu topicurile mele :blink: Apropo...topicurile postate de mine sunt pentru informare nu pentru polemici, poate nu toti mebrii sunt la curent cu ultimele noutati de la BMW.

  4.  The media are celebrating the new petrol and diesel engines in the BMW 7 Series, as “benchmarks for premium-class engine technology”.  The new V8 diesel in particular has impressed motoring journalists with its exceptionally quiet running, superior power development and comparatively low fuel consumption.  The choice of suspensions leaves nothing to be desired for media experts. Some journalists have even compared the driving characteristics of the BMW 7 Series to those of a Grand Tourer or sports car.  The press have been equally impressed with the unique combination of superior driving dynamics, sportiness and supreme comfort.  The broad consensus on the re-designed BMW 7 Series is best summed up in a statement by the German national daily, “SĂźddeutsche Zeitung” (9/3/2005): “The damping system of the BMW 7 Series is two classes more comfortable than that of a VW Phaeton, the car is much more agile and competent in bends than the Mercedes S-Class, can match the Audi A8 for agility and offers a ride as smooth as that of the Jaguar XJ.”
  5.  Mercedes’ modified V8 diesel, delivering 231 kW/314 hp, will make its debut in late summer in the E 420 CDI; later on, it will also feature in the new S-Class.  Its most important competitor in this segment is the BMW 535d with Variable Twin Turbo technology (200 kW/272 hp).  The Mercedes E 420 CDI has more power and torque, but the BMW 535d makes up for this by being 150 kg lighter (kerb weight) and by offering considerably better agility.  The BMW six-cylinder in-line engine in the BMW 535d responds more directly to the accelerator, offers much better fuel economy and boasts an exceptionally wide powerband for a diesel.  The Mercedes E 420 CDI appeals to customers who value acceleration and a high degree of comfort, while the BMW 535d holds more appeal for drivers whose priorities are driving enjoyment, optimum response and a more agile and sporting drive.  With the Twin Turbo diesel in the BMW 535d, BMW underscores its leading position in diesel development. Apropo....saptamana viitoare o sa conduc 130i (vorba lui Turbo Man : datorita meserie :blink: ), cu mult inainte ca tu macar sa-l pipai sau sa citesti vreun test drive in vreo revista cu el. ...cand o sa vin in bucuresti cu siguranta am sa-ti iau banii si o s-o pun de chef cu toti forumistii.

Zau? il bate audi 2.0 tdi si golful? hahaha buna gluma........ tu ori crezi ca noi nu conducem audi, bmw sau golf ori ne iei de fraieri. pai teoretic (practic te invit la o liniuta cu audi si golf) bmw 340 nM cuplu audi 320 nM acceleratie 7,9 la 9,3 . basca tractiune spate versus tractiune fata. tu ne dezinformezi crunt pe aici pe forum...si mai ai cateva gafe ...una la x3 .

  20. BMW 330Cd Convertible: the logical next step in BMW’s diesel offensive. With the introduction of the new BMW 330Cd Convertible, BMW continues its diesel offensive, following up on the 3-litre diesel offered for the BMW 3 Series CoupĂŠ by offering the same engine option for the Convertible as well. The diesel trend keeps gathering pace, especially in Western Europe. From 1999 to the end of 2003, the diesel proportion in new vehicle registrations rose from 28% to almost 44%. This did not just affect the traditional oil burner segments, but also extended to vehicle classes that in days gone by would not readily have been associated with diesel engines. A prime example is the BMW 3 Series CoupĂŠ. Nearly every second BMW 3 Series CoupĂŠ sold in Western Europe is now either a BMW 320Cd or a BMW 330Cd. The 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line diesel unit complements the Convertible’s dynamic character perfectly. With its superior, almost sports car-like performance, the BMW 330Cd is the most sporting and powerful convertible in its class:  Power: 150 kW/204 hp  Max. torque: 410 Nm @ 1,500–3,250 rpm  Acceleration 0–100 km/h: 7.8 sec  Top speed: 234 km/h But BMW engine technology does not just make for convincing performance figures. It also ensures that the new BMW 330Cd scores top marks in terms of efficiency. Despite its high performance, fuel consumption remains low. And the big diesel Convertible’s engine has been designed to achieve compliance with the EU4 emissions standard, even without a particle filter.  Fuel consumption: 7.0 l/100 km (EU combined cycle) Range: approx. 900 km
  21. Competitors – inferior on almost all counts. Viewed in its competitive context, the top athlete within the BMW 1 Series is firmly in a class by itself. Compared to the top models of its core competitors, the Audi A3 3.2 quattro and the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, it not only features the most powerful, but also the most fuel-efficient six-cylinder engine. Audi A3 3.2 quattro. The Audi A3 is based on the VW Golf platform. In addition to a two-door version, it is also offered as a four-door Sportback, with vehicle length increased by 83 mm. Despite a slight capacity advantage (3.2 litres instead of the BMW 130i’s 3.0 litres), the Audi A3 3.2 quattro fails to match its BMW rival (190 kW/258 hp / 6.2 sec / 9.0 l/100 km) in terms of power (184 kW/250 hp), acceleration (6.5 sec), or fuel consumption (10.6 l/100 km). Transmitting the power of the more powerful Audi engines to the road requires AWD for these usually front-wheel driven vehicles – and the Audi A3 3.2 quattro is no exception. A new Audi S3 with approximately 206 kW/280 hp is expected at the end of this year. Alfa Romeo 147 GTA. In 2003, Alfa Romeo introduced a sports version of its 147 that boasts a 3.2-litre V6 engine (184 kW/250 hp). Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is on a par with that of the BMW 130i (6.2 s), but its top speed of 245 km/h does not match the BMW 130i’s electronically limited 250 km/h, while its fuel consumption of 12.1 l/100 km far exceeds the modest 9.0 l/100 km/h the BMW 130i contents itself with. The relatively imprecise steering and the exceedingly hard suspension are among the weaknesses of the Italian FWD. The workmanship and material quality in the interior are further areas where the Alfa clearly falls short of the standard set by the BMW. VW Golf GTI. The VW Golf GTI is among the secondary competitors of the BMW 130i. This model is Volkswagen’s attempt at reviving the GTI cult of the 1970s. Despite its significantly smaller capacity (2.0 l), this four-cylinder turbocharged engine manages an output of 147 kW/200 hp. Its maximum torque of 280 Nm is transmitted to the front axle via a six-speed manual gearbox or the DSG direct shift gearbox. The VW Golf GTI is available in a two-door version and as a four-door model. Verdict: The BMW 130i – in a class by itself. The BMW 130i offers all the features that make the BMW 1 Series so successful, combined with maximum sporting prowess: it is full of character, while maintaining a perfectly discreet exterior. Boasting rear-wheel drive (unique in this segment), the most refined six-cylinder engine in the world and superior performance figures, the BMW 130i will define a new benchmark for agility and dynamism in the compact class following its market launch in September.

The engine – an engineering milestone. The new BMW six-cylinder in-line powerplant (see eNewsletter 25/04) has revolutionised modern engine design. It is among the lightest and most advanced six-cylinders in the world (for technical specifications and comparisons with competitor models see the Appendix). What makes this engine so remarkable is its unmatched power development, spontaneous response and supreme refinement.
